MISSION AND DUTIES

Mission

The mission of the Township Treasurer is to manage and safeguard the township’s financial resources with integrity, transparency, and accountability, ensuring efficient collection, investment, and disbursement of public funds in the best interest of the community.

Under Michigan law (specifically the General Law Township Act and Charter Township Act), the township treasurer is an elected official and has both statutory and fiduciary responsibilities

Duties
  • Property Tax Collection
  • Revenue Management & Budgeting Support
  • Banking & Cash Management
  • Investment of Township Funds
  • Disbursement of Funds
  • Maintain Accurate Financial Records
  • Financial Reporting
  • Work with Other Township Officials
  • Respond to Taxpayer Inquiries
